Back to School Check List

Back-to-school season is approaching, and with the hustle and bustle of summer, getting back into a routine will be challenging. If you’re still in the summer haze and need to snap back to reality and start your back-to-school shopping, here are some helpful hints to ease the process.

School Supplies and Things to Remember

Heading back to school is such an exciting time for every kid! While shopping for new school supplies is lots of fun, there are a few other things to think about before the school year kicks off. Take a look at these four things you should consider to help your little one get ready for the busy year ahead.

  • Shop Back to School Sales: Notebooks, paper, pencils, folders, pencil cases, computers.
  • Send Them With Kleenex and Wipes: These supplies are helpful not only for your child but also for the teacher during cold and flu season.
  • Reusable Water Bottle: Get a reliable water bottle for their classroom. Most schools have refill stations, and we want to ensure we stay hydrated throughout the day.
  • Take Inventory of Last Year’s School Supplies: If you’re anything like me, you probably save any supplies that came home from the previous year to use at a later date. Once you receive the school supplies list, you can match it up with any unused supplies from the previous school year and save a little money at the same time

Healthy Lunch

Coming up with lunchtime meals for 10 straight months can be daunting, but it is essential for kids to have healthy meals throughout the school year. Before the school year begins, sit down with your child and make a list of the meals they want. Also, plan easy-to-prep snacks to make the school year go smoothly. It’s important to have reusable, easy-to-open containers as well. If your school provides hot lunches, review the menu with your child to see if there are healthy options they would like to try when you’re in a pinch throughout the year.

Back to School Footwear

Back-to-school kicks are an important part of our new look for the school year. Although we want to have the latest and greatest, making sure we have a comfortable, reliable pair is also very important. Whether it’s a new pair of Air Force Ones or a fresh pair of Sambas, we hope you pick the best fit for you.

Check-In

Please ensure to check in with your kids before they head back to school to see how they feel about the new school year. Going back to school with a new teacher and new classmates can cause some anxiety, so it’s important to make sure the kids are feeling comfortable before their first day.
