It’s the most wonderful time of the year—holiday party season! December is truly one of our favourite months because the fashion trends are so extra. Sequins, velvets, sparkles, bows. You get to bust out all of the fancy trends and we are here for it. This year is no different. We’re dropping the minimalism, and going all in on holiday-core. We’ve highlighted some of the top trends for the year, and even thrown in a few of our favorite picks for the season. Happy holiday shopping!

1. Metallics

Metallics are the perfect go-to for a look that feels classy and minimal, but adds a little festive flare. Try this trend in any style shoe, but we’re loving a heeled mule.

Aldo, Cassey Metallic Heeled Mule, $110 $49.97

2. Feathers

Feathers have entered the chat, and they’re fabulous. This new texture is great to add some fun to a basic bootie or heel.

Micheal Kors, Whitby Feather Trim Pointed Toe Booties, $250 $187.50

3. Fancy Flats

Why sacrifice comfort for style when you can rock a pair of embellished flats this holiday season? Pair them with an elegant suit or midi dress.

Bloomingdale’s, Sam Edelman Felicia Embellished Ballet Flat, $140 $84

4. Velvet

Velvet can take a basic shoe and step it up a notch. Either in a beautiful neutral or jewel tone, this material looks luxe and festive.

Bloomingdale’s, Jimmy Choo Heloise Velvet High Heel, $975

5. Bows

Feel like a present by adding some festive bows to your holiday pumps. Pointed toe looks great with these charming embellishments.

Bloomgindale’s, Giambattista Valli Women’s Bow Embellished High Heel Mules, $1,220 $610

6. The LBP (Little Black Pump)

A simple black pump can go a long way, and even farther with some simple embellishments. A smattering of gems or tie-up straps can make a statement with your holiday outfit.

Aldo, Maely Black Heel, $110 $79.98

7. Fancy Loafers

Loafers are still very much on trend and you can jazz them up with some holiday jewels, sequins, and textures. Comfort, meet style.

Bloomingdale’s, Kurt Geiger London Embellished Chunky Loafers, $195

8. Over the Knee

We love a boot for it’s added support, and this season the trend is sky high—in heel height and how high it hits on the leg. Pair these with a chic mini and get ready to dance.

Bloomingdale’s, Schutz Marvana Over the Knee Boots, $288

9. Mules

Mules are a great shoe for comfort and style. They look great with a kitten heel and are easy to slip on and off. Add a little glitz and glamour and you’re party ready.

Aldo, Brigadoon Mule Slide, $80

10. Slingbacks

Bring a little old Hollywood to your holiday outfit this season with a chic slingback. Whether rocking a wedge or a stiletto, slingback are always a go to style.

Aldo, Marciana Pump Heel, $110
